Conversations with my friends are constantly dominated by our concerns about getting a good job and where to find reliable and authoritative sources of career advice and opportunities. Advice websites like ‘Prospects’ for example are really good but there are many, many other excellent ones out there as well; job boards and employer career sites. In the current economic climate learning all the ‘dos and don’ts’ of being a graduate job seeker from as many different perspectives as possible is really important for anyone trying to get their first career break. I want to work in marketing so learning all about building websites and how to use social media to develop my career prospects and not just my social life has been brilliant. Seeing my first advice guide ‘From Facebook to LinkedIn’ appear on the front page felt like such an achievement. I just hope that visitors to the site will learn as much from using it as I have by helping to build it. It’s been a steep learning curve but a really fun journey!”
